Corduroy or water-repellent: which fabric for your home?

The question we get most often is what actually separates the corduroy bed from the water-repellent one. The short answer: nothing on the inside. The cushion and the filling are the same, and only the cover differs.
Corduroy — soft and warm
Corduroy is the soft, warm one. The ribbed face is the kind of texture a lot of pets push their nose into, and it comes in five colours that are easy to live with in a room. It suits pets that are reliably house-trained and homes that run the air conditioning.
Water-repellent and dust-mite resistant
The water-repellent fabric is specified as water-repellent, dust-mite resistant and 99.78% allergen-blocking. The part you feel day to day is that spills sit on the surface instead of soaking straight in, which buys you time to wipe them away.
If someone in the house has allergies, or your pet has skin trouble, the water-repellent cover is the safer pick. The same goes for a puppy still learning, an older pet who cannot always hold it, and any enthusiastic licker or drooler.
When there is more than one pet
With several pets you do not have to choose only one. Plenty of homes put the messiest one on water-repellent and keep corduroy for the tidy one.
Both fabrics run the full range from S to XXL, both appear in the mini bed for the smallest companions, and both have a matching pillow-and-blanket set.
